The New Commander Cody Band – Rock 'N' Roll Again (1977)
Keep the boogie-woogie alive with Rock 'N' Roll Again, the high-energy 1977 release from The New Commander Cody Band. Following the dissolution of the original Lost Planet Airmen, George Frayne (the Commander himself) assembled a powerhouse new lineup to deliver his signature blend of blues-rock, country-swing, and rowdy barroom piano.
Recorded at the legendary Record Plant in Sausalito and released on Arista, this album captures the transition of an icon into a new era. It’s a record filled with road-tested grit, featuring guest vocals from the incomparable Nicolette Larson and blistering guitar work. From the truck-driving anthems to the soulful blues grooves, it’s a must-have for fans of roots-rock and the 70s California music scene.
