Background & Production Meliora (Latin for "better") ushered in the dapper, art-deco-inspired papacy of Papa Emeritus III. Produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by the legendary Andy Wallace, the album marked Ghost's transition from a cult phenomenon to bona fide arena headliners. The Deluxe Edition—often titled Meliora Redux—expanded the original concept, which explored themes of the absence of God in a dystopian setting.
