This 1972 album features the London Symphony Orchestra and English Chamber Choir, conducted by David Measham, performing sophisticated arrangements of The Who's seminal 1969 album, Tommy. Wil Malone and James Sullivan crafted these orchestral and choral adaptations, blending classical precision with rock opera intensity. The project, produced by Lou Reizner, originally included Rod Stewart as a guest vocalist, whose role was later refined to the iconic "Pinball Wizard" as Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey increased their participation. This release represents a landmark fusion of symphonic and rock music with distinguished guest contributions.
