Ice-T and his band - This album takes Ice-T from Rap Metal to Thrash/Hardcore.

Deluxe Edition. Colour Vinyl - Silver - Limited Edition - 200 copies only.

Artist: Body Count Title: Carnivore Album Type: Seventh Studio Album (Original Vinyl Release) Original Release Date: March 6, 2020 Label: Century Media (Catalog: 19439719731 / 19439721831) Genre: Thrash Metal / Hardcore Punk / Crossover / Rap Metal

Background & Production Released just as the global pandemic began, Carnivore is Body Count’s 30th-anniversary statement. Following the critical success of Bloodlust, the band re-teamed with producer Will Putney to refine their sound—a blend of Ice-T’s street-level lyricism and Ernie C’s heavy, thrash-oriented guitar work. The album title, as Ice-T famously explained, was a reaction to the "softness" of modern society. Notably, the track "Bum-Rush" won the band a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2021, solidifying Body Count’s late-career resurgence as a legitimate force in the metal world.

Musical Composition & Style The album leans harder into thrash and hardcore than their early 90s output, with significantly more complex production.

  • Special Guests: Features an eclectic mix of collaborators, including Amy Lee (Evanescence) on "When I'm Gone," Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) on "Colors 2020," Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) on "Another Level," and the late Riley Gale (Power Trip) on "Point the Finger."

  • Tribute & Re-imagining: Includes a heavy cover of Motörhead’s "Ace of Spades" (dedicated to Lemmy) and a "metalized" update of Ice-T’s own 1988 classic, "Colors."

  • Lyrical Focus: Ice-T tackles systemic racism, police brutality, and gang culture with more explicit anger than ever, particularly on "The Hate Is Real" and "Point the Finger."

  • Personnel: Ice-T (Vocals), Ernie C (Lead Guitar), Juan of the Dead (Rhythm Guitar), Vincent Price (Bass), and Ill Will (Drums).

Original Pressing & Collector Notes The 2020 release was heavily marketed with a wide array of limited color variants, making it a high-target for collectors.
