Quo, the seventh studio album by British rock band Status Quo, was released in May 1974, reaching number two on the UK charts. Entirely composed by the band, the album showcases a heavier sound influenced by bassist Alan Lancaster, who co-wrote six of its eight tracks. Notable contributions from guest musicians Bob Young and Tom Parker add harmonica and piano textures to "Break the Rules." Tracks like "Drifting Away" highlight the album’s intense, driving rhythms, marking Quo as a defining, weighty chapter in the band’s discography.
